Süessi Grüessli is a small chocolate manufactory in Sursee near Lucerne. We make handmade chocolate postcards from Swiss chocolate – edible postcards you can personalise with a message and, on selected products, with a photo of your own. You order online and we deliver within Switzerland.

What is a chocolate postcard?

A chocolate postcard is a flat bar of Swiss chocolate the size of a postcard. Instead of paper and a pen, your greeting goes on in chocolate: the motif is cast by hand and your message is applied by hand. You give it like a card and eat it like chocolate.

Made by hand in Sursee

Every card is made in our manufactory in Sursee near Lucerne. Stephanie Manz, a trained confectioner, makes each one individually. Because the chocolate is tempered, cast into the mould by hand and wrapped one at a time, every card is unique and may differ slightly from the photo.

Why handmade is different

Chocolate has to be tempered so that the cocoa butter sets in the right crystal form – only then does the bar snap cleanly and keep its shine. In industrial production a machine does this for thousands of identical bars; here it happens batch by batch, which is what makes it possible to treat every motif and every message individually.

Your personal message

We write your message onto every chocolate postcard by hand – horizontally or vertically, whichever you choose in the shop. How many characters fit depends on the size: 100 for S, 200 for M and 250 for L. On products that allow it, you can also upload up to two images of your own.

Sizes, kinds and fillings

Depending on the motif the cards come in sizes S, M and L, in dark, milk and white chocolate. Size L can be ordered with a filling – praliné, Dubai or nut.

Packaging and delivery

Every card is wrapped by hand and shipped within Switzerland. Delivery takes about 5 days, and you choose the delivery date at checkout. Shipping costs CHF 8.50 and is free from an order value of CHF 100. Because every card is made fresh and by hand we cannot accept returns – if something arrives damaged, contact us within seven days.
